Captain Obvious !

Do you want to know what I’ve come to realise, there just isn’t enough time in the day. Not to do all of the things that I want to do and all of the things I have to do.

Hello Captain Obvious.

In trying to be a good mom, working full time, and get fit again, what I noticed was that if I didn’t have the full 30/60/90 minutes I needed to get my workout/shower/beauty regime in, I let the workout slip. And before I knew it, days would go by and I hadn’t trained or exercised even once in 5 day period.

So I’ve started to challenge my thinking, to say “but isn’t something better than nothing?” Surely, a few minutes of active is better than a few minutes of passive? And so, I started doing something for at least five minutes a day.

Yes, no matter what, I try to spend 5 minutes being active every day, and it’s working. I don’t feel discouraged that I didn’t get my training in (I’ll hope and try to tomorrow) and I got to spend five minutes doing something for me. It has yet to fail to help shift my mind from negative thoughts to positive thinking - in fact it’s consistently helping me reset my frame of mind and to operate more effectively.

Lately, I’ve been climbing the stairs with a coworker - she started doing this and has inspired me to join her. I’ve added a few HIIT (high intensity interval training) sessions to help build strength and agility, and I’ve even just enjoyed some gentle stretching and breathing. I’ve written these all down and would love for you to do them with me!

I’d love for you to join me for the Fit in Five challenge! Want to jump in with me and spend 5 minutes doing something for YOU! Visit us and see what we can help you do.
